Seems like there is some confusion out there.
To be 100% clear
Ronin is becoming an Ethereum L2
To do that we will partner with a sequencer provider like Arbitrum, Optimism, or zkSync.
They provide tech that enables becoming an Ethereum L2.
We're starting to see different L2 providers submit their proposals to Ronin.
This means that they're looking to provide access to their sequencer technology which would facilitate Ronin becoming an Ethereum layer 2.
What does a sequencer do?
• Collects user transactions from the mempool (or directly from users).
• Decides the order in which transactions will be included.
• Bundles them into a block (or batch) and submits it to Ethereum
We know that Ronin will become an Ethereum l2, the technology that facilitates this is what the proposal process is centered around.
